Notice of China Bridge Association on holding the 2020-2021 National Mixed Bridge Team Selection Competition

The selection methods and relevant requirements for the national mixed bridge team in 2020-2021 are notified as follows:


1. The 2020-2021 national hybrid bridge team representative qualifications will be generated through the selection competition. The current cycle will be until the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022 when the new national hybrid bridge team is selected.


2. Selection methods


 (1) Adopt the selection method of the whole team.


 (2) All participating athletes will reach 1/3 of the playing rate in the round-robin stage. If the playing rate is insufficient, the team shall not advance to the knockout. The final selected players must reach a 1/3 appearance rate in the round robin and each knockout.


(3) The winning team in the qualifying finals is the National Mixed Bridge First Team (hereinafter referred to as the National First Team), and the final team is the National Mixed Bridge Second Team (hereinafter referred to as the National Second Team). The two teams together form the National Mixed Bridge Team (hereinafter referred to as the National Mixed Team).


3. Right of representation


(1) National First Team


1. Represent the national team in the world championships and intercontinental competitions during the cycle.


2. Representing a national team to participate in other international bridge events during the cycle.


(2) National Second Team


1. Represent the national second team to participate in the World or Intercontinental Championships and other international bridge events that are allowed to participate in the cycle.


2. Priority to make up: When the first team of the country cannot participate in the world championships, intercontinental games and other international competitions during the period, the second team of the country has the right to make up.


3. Have the right to challenge to become a national mixed bridge team.


(3) The annual basic task of the national mixed team: winning the top 4 in the World Championship.


(4) The national team wins the championship or runner-up of the world championship, automatically reserves the national team qualification for one session, and does not need to participate in the next round of trials. The trial competition continued, and the first name produced was the second national team. The subsequent comparison method still applies in the next national team cycle.


(5) Right to challenge


When the national first team fails to complete the basic tasks in the first year of the cycle, the national second team can challenge the national first team at the end of the first year. In order to be selected as a national mixed team, each player's appearance rate in the challenge must reach 50%. The winning team of the challenge is the new national first team and the losing team is the national second team.


4. Eligibility


(1) Team members of the China Bridge Association will participate in the team. Each member unit is only allowed to register one team.


(2) Athletes must meet the following conditions


1. Citizens of the People's Republic of China;


2. Individual member of China Bridge Association;


3. Have not participated in the World Championships and Intercontinental Championships on behalf of other countries and regions in the last 3 years.


(3) Each registered team shall have at least 2 male athletes and 2 female athletes (mixed team appearance rate of 50%) meets one of the following conditions:


1. Get the top three results of one of the following events in 2018 or 2019:


(1) Mixed team competition of the 4th National Intellectual Games Bridge Competition;


(2) Mixed team competition of National Bridge Championship;


(3) Hainan Bridge Festival Mixed Team Competition;


(4) Zhejiang Anji National Bridge Mixed Tournament Open;


(5) Yunnan Tengchong National Bridge Mixed Tournament Open;


(6) Jiangyan Cup National Mixed Tournament Open;


(7) Minghao Cup National Mixed Team Open.


2. From January 1st, 2018 to December 31st, 2019, male athletes with a score of over 1,000 gold points and female athletes with a score of over 800 gold points will be awarded by the China Bridge Association.


3. Players of the national mixed team in 2018 and 2019.


4. World-class master, world-long master.


5. Athletes who have won the top three in the World Bridge Championship Mixed Team, Mixed Double, and Multinational Mixed Team.


(4) Athletes participating in the selection of national teams in mixed regiments may also report on the selection of national men's and women's teams.


V. Selection competition


(1) The competition is divided into two stages: the first stage is a round-robin game, and the second stage is a knockout game.


(2) The round-robin competition determines the rounds and number of pairs in each round depending on the registration situation.


(3) 80 decks in each round of the elimination round and 96 decks in the final.


6. Abstain after being selected


A sports team or athlete who abstains for no reason after being selected as a national mixed team:


(1) Abstaining of the whole team: The unit member will be disqualified from participating in the national bridge competition for one year, and the unit member will be disqualified from participating in the next mixed group selection competition


(2) Athlete's personal waiver: The athlete will be disqualified from participating in the national bridge competition for one year, and the athlete will be disqualified from the next national team qualifying event.


7. Funding


(1) The training, competition and visitation expenses incurred by the national first team and second team will be borne by the members of the unit.


(2) The member of the unit selected for the national first team shall provide the team with guarantee funds of 800,000 yuan for participating in international competitions and training within the period. If training and participation in international competitions are organized as planned during the cycle, the deposit will be returned to the relevant unit members at the end of the cycle.


8. Adjustment of national team athletes


(1) The adjustment of the athletes of the national first and second teams within the period shall be decided by the members of the affiliated units.


(2) When it is necessary to adjust the athletes, the participation rate of this trial should be more than 1/3; or the world's top masters and world life masters; or the Chinese Bridge Association Master points from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019 Supplemented for male athletes above 1,000 gold points or female athletes above 800 gold points.


(3) The adjustment of athletes shall be reported to the China Bridge Association within one week after the completion of the adjustment.
9. National Team Management


(1) The Chinese Bridge Association and the National First Team clarify the relevant responsibilities and rights through an agreement.


(2) The national team is managed by the bridge organization affiliated with the sports team under the guidance of the Chinese Bridge Association.


(3) The daily training and competition activities of the national team are the responsibility of the unit. The unit must report to the China Bridge Association before the specified time each year for the annual training and competition plan.


(4) The selection of coaches of the national team shall be determined by the members of the unit where the selected team is located according to procedures. The determination process of the selection of coaches needs to be filed with the China Bridge Association, and the candidates must be publicized on the China Bridge Network.


(5) The members of the Chinese Bridge Association unit shall be selected into the national mixed team, and the members of the unit shall guarantee the treatment of athletes.


(6) The elected national team must abide by the "National Bridge Team Management Code", complete the national team's competition tasks in the cycle, and cooperate with the national team's related activities.


(7) Elected athletes (coachs) of the national team should abide by the discipline of the national team and maintain the image of the national team.


(8) The China Bridge Association has the right to evaluate the national team.


10. Registration


(1) Online registration is conducted through the special topic of the "China National Mixed Bridge Team Selection Tournament 2020-2021" of China Bridge. Please strictly follow the online registration requirements to fill in the registration content. Each participating unit must complete the online registration before December 16 and send the registration form to the China Bridge Association at the same time.


(2) The registration form needs to be stamped with the official seal of the member of the unit. When registering, the results of each athlete's qualification for the competition should be indicated item by item, and the number of rooms booked by the team and the contact method should be indicated.


(3) Registration fee: RMB 3,000 per team. After the online registration review is passed, the registration fee will be remitted to the following designated account, otherwise the registration will be invalid.

11. Registration and Leadership Meeting


Each team will report to Pullman Beijing Xingji (No. 12 Ronghua South Road, Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Daxing District, Beijing) before 19:30 on December 22, and the team leader will meet at 20:00 on December 22 Held, please invite each team leader to attend on time.


12. Expenses


(1) Each team shall take care of its own expenses.


(2) Accommodation Hotel

Since December is the peak period of the company's annual meeting, the number of rooms changes greatly. Please confirm that the participating teams reserve rooms before December 15 to avoid the inconvenience caused by the lack of rooms.
