BFAME 2013 – Final Results

India wins the BFAME OPEN Teams Championship – India beat Bahrain by 52 IMPs (117 –65) in the 32 boards final of the Open Teams of the 17th BFAME Championships to win the coveted Zakaria Adamjee Memorial Trophy, the symbol of BFAME supremacy. India had a carry over of 8 IMPs. In the 1st set they beat their opponents by 25 IMPs (41-16). Bahrain gave a good fight in the 2nd set, but their opponents were too strong for them. India won the 2nd set by 68-49 to seal a comfortable victory. Heartiest Congratulations to the Winners. The Indian team is represented by Mrs. Kiran NADAR, B. Satyanarayana, Sunit CHOKSHI K.R. VENKATRAMAN, B. PRABHAKAR & Rajeshwar TEWARI. The Bahrain team is represented by Wael BASIONY, Teodoras MACI, Imran Ali ABEDI, Meir NONOO & Mahesh LAKHANI. Both India and Bahrain open teams will represent Zone-4 in the Bermuda Bowl 2013 to be held at Bali, Indonesia, from 16th Sep to 29th Sep 2013. We hope that both the teams will do their best to keep the Zone-4 flag flying in the Bermuda Bowl.
PAKISTAN wins the BFAME Women Teams Championship – The 32-boards final was played today, to determine the Winner of the Women Teams in the BFAME Championships 2013. The PAKISTAN Women team (AZWER Zeenat, AGHA Rubina, DOSSA Qudsia, BOKHARI Roshan Ara, SAEED HAI Rubina, RAZA Fatima) defeated the Indian team (Hema DEORA, Marianne KARMARKAR, Rita CHOKSI, Bharati DEY, Tutu NARULA & Asha SURANA) by 94-53 (CO: 8-0, 49-28, 37-25) Congratulations to the Pakistan Women Team for playing consistently well and winning the Vinodini Goenka Trophy. Both Pakistan & India qualify for the Venice Cup from Zone-4.
INDIA wins the BFAME SENIORS Teams Championship – The 32-boards final was played today, to determine the Winner of the Senior Teams in the BFAME Championships 2013. The Indian team represented by Ashok GOEL, Vinod SHARMA, Sunil MACHHAR, R. SRIDHARAN, Kamal MUKHERJEE & Aloke SADHU defeated the Bangladesh Senior Team comprising of Brig.(Retd) M. Azizul HAQUE, Khandakar Muzharul HAQUE, A.K. Firoze AHMED & A.T.M. Moazzem HUSSAIN by 125-28 (CO: 8-0, 63-18, 54-10). Congratulations to the Indian team for winning the Senior Teams event for Nawzad Shaker Trophy. Both India & Bangladesh will represent Zone-4 in the Seniors Bowl.
