The 13th "Xinye Cup" Bridge Team Competition in Gansu Province was held on November 15-16, 2008 at the Provincial Bridge Activity Center. Participating in this competition were 122 players from 23 teams from Jinchuan, Baiyin, Zhangye, Shaanxi Electric Power, Qinghai Electric Power and Lanzhou. The game is divided into two stages. In the first stage, the Swiss shift game is used to qualify, five rounds are played, and 10 decks of cards are played in each round. The top four in the Swiss shift move into the second stage for the knockout. The remaining teams will conduct another five rounds of Swiss shift play-offs to determine the third and subsequent places. In the second stage of the knockout round, Jinchuan Group Company and Zhangye Deaf School defeated the second team of Lan For Energy Club and Baiyin Group Company to enter the finals. After fierce competition, Jinchuan Group Company defeated in the final with 61:34 IMP. Zhangye School for the Deaf won the championship and became the biggest winner of this year's Gansu Provincial Bridge Competition. Zhangye School for the Deaf won the runner-up. The Gansu Sapphire Club won the third place with 105 VP in the Swiss shift play-off.
