Regulations of Hubei Province Bridge Championship in 2008

2. Competition date and location:


Competition Date: December 19th-26th, 2008


   Competition location: Wuhan Hankou Fifth Ring Hotel (Hankou Xinhua Road Stadium)


3. Competition items:


(1) Open team competition


(2) Mixed team competition


(3) Youth Team Competition


(4) Open Doubles


(5) Women's Double Match


(6) Mixed double match


4. Participation method:


(1) Freely form a team (yes) to participate. Competitors must be individual members of the Chinese Bridge Association. Each team can report 4 to 6 players in the team competition. Participants participating in the youth team competition must be born after January 1, 1983.


(2) Registration fee:


1. Open team competition: 200 yuan per team


2. Mixed team competition: 100 yuan per team


3. Youth team competition: registration fee is waived


4. Open double match: 50 yuan per pair


5. Women's double match: 50 yuan per pair


6. Mixed double match: 50 yuan per pair


(3) The standard for board and lodging per person per day is 120 yuan.


(4) All expenses of the contestants shall be borne by themselves.


5. Competition method:


(1) Open team competition: divided into 2 stages. The first stage is the preliminaries, depending on the number of participating teams to determine the use of round robin or Swiss competition; the second stage is the elimination round, taking the top 8 of the preliminaries to participate. Teams that have not entered the knockout rounds and the top 6 in the knockout rounds can participate in the open Swiss-style team competition (no more registration fees are required).


(2) Mixed team competition and youth team competition: depending on the number of participating teams, a round robin or Swiss competition will be adopted.


(3) Open double match: divided into two stages: preliminaries and finals, both of which are based on the competition points system. The preliminaries are played in 2 quarters, and the ranking is determined according to the cumulative points of the competition; the final is played in 1 quarter, and the top 20 of the preliminaries are selected to participate, and the ranking is determined according to the competition points.


(4) Women's double match and mixed double match: The match points system is adopted, and the ranking is determined according to the cumulative points of the match.


(5) Each pair of partners must prepare two copies of the agreed card, which will be brought to the table during the game.


6. Admission ranking and rewards:


(1) Except for the top 4 in the open Swiss team competition, the top 6 in all other competitions will be awarded.


(2) The results of all competitions will be reported to the China Bridge Association, and the Chinese Bridge Association’s master points will be awarded according to the "China Bridge Association Member Technical Grade Standard".


7. Registration and registration:


(1) The registration deadline for the team competition is December 9, 2008. The registration deadline for the double competition is 22:00 the day before the first quarter of the competition. Registration before this time limit can ensure the participation. When the competition venue allows, the registration for the team competition can be extended to 17:00 the day before the first round of the competition, and the registration for the double competition can be extended to 1 hour before the start of the first quarter of the competition. When there are certain restrictions on the competition venue, registration will be closed at any time according to the order of registration.


(2) Participants must register with the Hubei Bridge Association within the specified time.

(3) On December 19, 2008, participants will be accepted for registration.


(4) Participants must report to the competition area before the extended registration period of the competition event they participate in, and complete the payment and confirmation procedures.


(5) A team leader meeting will be held at 20:00 on December 19, 2008 to determine game-related matters (teams participating in the team competition must send their staff to the meeting on time).


8. The methods for the selection and appointment of referees and arbitration committees shall be formulated separately.


9. Matters not covered will be notified separately.
