Notice of the Chinese Bridge Association on Holding the 2020-2021 National Mixed Bridge Team Trial


Member units:


The 2020-2021 national mixed bridge team selection methods and related requirements are hereby notified as follows:


1. The 2020-2021 national mixed bridge team representative qualifications will be generated through the selection competition. The current period will be until the end of 2021 or early 2022 when a new national mixed bridge team is selected.


2. Selection method


 (1) Adopt the whole team selection method.


 (2) All participating athletes have reached 1/3 of the appearance rate in the round robin stage, and the team is not allowed to advance to the knockout stage if the appearance rate is insufficient. The final selected players must reach a 1/3 appearance rate in the round robin and each elimination round.


(3) The winning team in the trial finals is the first national mixed bridge team (hereinafter referred to as the first national team), and the losing team in the finals is the second national mixed bridge team (hereinafter referred to as the second national team). The two teams together form the National Mixed Bridge Team (hereinafter referred to as the National Mixed Team).


3. Representation


(1) National First Team


1. Represent the national team in world championships and intercontinental competitions during the cycle.


2. Represent the national team to participate in other international bridge events during the cycle.


(2) National Second Team


1. Represent the second national team in the world or intercontinental championships and other international bridge events that are allowed to participate in the cycle.


2. Priority of replenishment: When the first national team is unable to participate in the world championships, intercontinental competitions and other international competitions in the cycle for some reason, the second national team has the priority of replenishment.


3. Possess the challenge to become a national mixed bridge team.


(3) The annual basic task of the national mixed team: to win the top 4 in the world championships.


(4) If the first national team wins the championship or runner-up of the World Championship, it will automatically retain the qualification of the first national team for one term and does not need to participate in the next trial. The trials continued, and the first national second team was produced. The subsequent comparison methods will still apply in the next national team cycle.


(5) The right to challenge


When the first national team fails to complete the basic tasks in the first year of the cycle, the second national team can challenge the first national team at the end of the first year. Each player in the challenge must have an attendance rate of 50% before being selected for the national mixed team. The winning team in the challenge is the new national first team, and the losing team is the second national team.


4. Eligibility


(1) Members of the China Bridge Association will form a team to participate. Each member unit is only allowed to register for one team.


(2) Athletes must meet the following conditions


1. Citizens of the People's Republic of China;


2. Individual member of China Bridge Association;


3. Have not participated in the World Championships and Continental Championships on behalf of other countries and regions in the last 3 years.


(3) Each registered team has at least 2 male athletes and 2 female athletes (50% participation rate in mixed team competition) meets one of the following conditions:


1. Get the top three results in one of the following events in 2018 or 2019:


(1) The 4th National Mind Games Bridge Competition Mixed Team Competition;


(2) National Bridge Championships mixed team competition;


(3) Hainan Bridge Festival mixed team competition;


(4) Zhejiang Anji National Bridge Mixed Team Open;


(5) Yunnan Tengchong National Bridge Mixed Team Open;


(6) Jiangyan Cup National Mixed Team Open;


(7) Minghao Cup National Mixed Team Open.


2. From January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019, male athletes who have won the Masters of China Bridge Association with 1,000 gold points or more, and female athletes with 800 gold points or more.


3. Players of the National Mixed Team in 2018 and 2019.


4. World Grand Master, World Lifelong Master.


5. The top three athletes who have won the World Bridge Championships in mixed team, mixed double and transnational mixed team competitions.


(4) Athletes participating in the selection of the mixed national team can also apply for the selection of the national men's team and the national women's team.


V. Competition method of selection


(1) The competition is divided into two stages: the first stage is a round robin and the second stage is a knockout.


(2) The round robin matches the number of pairs in each round according to the registration situation.


(3) Each round of the knockout round has 80 cards, and the final 96 cards.


6. Abstentions after being selected


If a sports team or athlete abstains without reason after being selected for a national mixed team, then:


(1) The entire team abstained: the member of the unit will be disqualified from participating in the national bridge competition for 1 year, and the member of the unit will be disqualified from participating in the next mixed team trial.


(2) Athlete’s individual abstention: the athlete will be disqualified from participating in the national bridge competition for one year, and the athlete will be disqualified from any trials of the national team next time.


Seven, funding


(1) The training, competition, and travel expenses incurred during the period of the first and second national teams shall be borne by the members of the unit.


(2) The unit members selected for the first national team shall provide the team with a guaranteed fund of 800,000 yuan for participating in international competitions and training during the period. If training and participation in international competitions are organized as planned during the cycle, the deposit will be returned to the relevant unit members at the end of the cycle.


8. Adjustment of National Team Players


(1) The adjustment of the athletes of the first and second national teams during the period is determined by the members of the unit.


(2) When it is necessary to adjust the athletes, the attendance rate should be more than 1/3 from this trial; or the world special master, the world lifetime master; or the master points of the China Bridge Association from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019 Supplement for male athletes with 1,000 gold points or more or female athletes with 800 gold points or more.


(3) The adjustment of athletes shall be reported to the China Bridge Association for the record within one week after the adjustment is completed.


Nine, national team management


(1) The China Bridge Association and the First National Team have agreed to clarify related responsibilities and rights.


(2) The national team is managed by the bridge organization of the sports team under the guidance of the China Bridge Association.


(3) The organization responsible for the daily training and competition activities of the national team shall be responsible for the organization, and the organization shall submit the annual training and competition plan to the China Bridge Association before the specified time each year.


(4) The coaches of the national team shall be determined by the members of the unit where the selected team belongs in accordance with procedures. The procedures for determining the selection of coaches need to be filed with the China Bridge Association, and the candidates need to be publicized on the China Bridge Network.


(5) The unit members of the China Bridge Association form a team to be selected into the national mixed team, and the unit members shall guarantee the treatment of the athletes.


(6) The elected national team must abide by the "National Bridge Team Management Code", complete the national team competition tasks within the cycle, and cooperate with the national team related activities.


(7) Elected national team athletes (coaches) should abide by national team discipline and maintain the image of the national team.


(8) The Chinese Bridge Association has the right to assess the national team.


10. Registration


(1) Online registration through the China Bridge Network "2020-2021 National Mixed Bridge Team Trials" event topic, please strictly follow the online registration requirements to fill in the registration content. All participating units must complete the online registration before December 16 and send the registration form to the China Bridge Association at the same time. If the time expires, it will be considered as a waiver.


(2) The registration form needs to be stamped with the official seal of the unit member. When registering, each athlete should indicate the qualifications of each athlete, and indicate the number of rooms reserved by the team and contact information.


(3) Registration fee: 3000 yuan/team, after the online registration is approved, the registration fee will be remitted to the following designated account, otherwise the registration will be invalid.

11. Registration and Team Leader Meeting


All participating teams should report to the Pullman Beijing Xingji Hotel (No. 12 Ronghua South Road, Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Daxing District, Beijing) before 19:30 on December 22. The pre-match leader will be held at 20:00 on December 22 Convened, all team leaders are requested to attend on time.


12. Expenses


(1) Each team shall pay for the participation fee.


(2) Accommodation Hotel


Standard room, double bed room: 600 yuan / room / day (single breakfast), 680 yuan / room / day (double breakfast);

Since December is the peak period of the company’s annual meeting, the number of rooms changes greatly. Please confirm that the participating teams book rooms before December 15 to avoid the inconvenience caused by insufficient number of rooms.
