On April 12, the 2009 "Red Bull Cup" Spring Bridge Team Competition came to an end at the Capital Hotel after two days of fierce competition. The railway team finally won the championship, and the National Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Team and the National Development and Reform Commission team won the runner-up and third runner-up respectively.
The competition is sponsored by the Central State Organs Federation of Trade Unions, organized by the Central State Organs Bridge Association, Beijing North Donghua Sports Entertainment Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Red Bull Vitamin Beverage Co., Ltd. A total of 44 teams of ministries and commissions from central state agencies signed up for the competition. The competition is divided into three stages: preliminaries, semi-finals and finals. On the 11th, there were four rounds of preliminaries on the Swiss shift system. The top 22 teams were admitted to participate in the rematch on the morning of the 12th. The semi-finals are also four rounds of Swiss-system shifting. The top eight teams with total points entered the afternoon finals. The final adopts the Swiss shift system where the winning team is the champion. After three rounds of intense and fierce competition, the Ministry of Railways team won the team championship with three victories; the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine team ranked second; the national development and The reform committee team won the third place; the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the second team of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Health, and the State Council Administration Bureau won four to eight.
