Rules for the Bridge Competition of the First National Mind Games

1. Competition date and location:


It was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from November 13 to 23, 2009.


2. Competition items:


(1) Men's Team


(2) Women's Team


(3) Mixed groups


(4) Men's Double


(5) Women's Double


(6) Mixed double


(7) Young men’s groups


(8) Young women's groups


3. Participants:


All provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, cities under separate state planning, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, People's Liberation Army, and industry sports associations can form teams to participate. Among them, youth projects are limited to provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government to form teams to participate.


4. Athlete qualifications:


(1) The participating athletes must be bridge players registered by the Chess and Card Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration. The qualifications of athlete registration representatives are subject to the registered representative units in 2009.


(2) Athlete registration must be completed before February 28, 2009. The qualifications of athlete representatives are announced on the China Bridge website www.ccba.org.cn.


5. Participation method:


(1) Each unit can report 1 team to participate in the men’s team, 1 team to participate in the women’s team, 1 team to participate in the mixed team, 2 pairs to participate in the men’s double, 2 pairs to participate in the women’s double, and 2 pairs to participate in the mixed double. Athletes participating in a mixed team cannot participate in a mixed double.


(2) All provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government may report one team to participate in the young men’s group and one team to participate in the young women’s group.


(3) Female players can sign up for men's competitions, but male players are not allowed to sign up for women's competitions. Mixed matches must be 1 male and 1 female pair.


(4) Athletes who apply for the youth event must be born after January 1, 1984.


(5) Each team can report 4-6 athletes in the team competition. Among them, mixed team competitions can report 2-3 male athletes and 2-3 female athletes.


(6) Control the establishment of each unit according to the quota of one team leader or coach for every six athletes.


6. Competition method:


(1) Men's team competition and women's team competition: preliminaries, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. If there are less than 8 teams, the method will be determined separately.


1. Preliminaries: There are 7 games, 16 pairs per game, and the top 8 will enter the 1/4 finals.


2. Quarter-finals and semi-finals: 2 quarters are divided equally, with 16 decks of cards in each quarter.


3. Final: 3 quarters, 16 decks of cards in each quarter.


(2) Men's double match, women's double match: 4 Mitchell competitions. From the second to the fourth game, the top 16 points will be grouped into group A, and then they will be grouped into other groups. In the fourth game, only 16 players in group A and 16 players in group B will be reserved. The ranking is based on the total points. The best score of Group B can only be ranked fifth in the total score.


(3) Mixed team competition:


1. Preliminaries: Swiss competition, a total of 7 rounds, each round of 8 decks of cards, the top 4 will enter the semi-finals.


2. Semi-finals: 2 quarters, 16 decks of cards in each quarter.


3. Final: 3 quarters, 16 decks of cards in each quarter.


(4) Mixed double match: 3 Mitchell games will be played. From the second to the third game, the top 16 points will be grouped into the A game, and then they will be included in the other group games. In the third game, only the 16 players in the A group and the 16 players in the B group will be reserved. The ranking is based on the total points. The best score of Group B can only be ranked fifth in the total score.


(5) Youth men's team competition and youth women's team competition: preliminaries, quarter-finals (only for the youth men's team), semi-finals and finals. The competition method depends on the registration situation and is determined without changing the overall schedule. When the number of registered teams is small, there may be no quarter-finals or no staged competition.


7. Admission ranking and rewards:


(1) In accordance with the "General Rules of the First National Mind Games Competition Rules".


(2) Master points of China Bridge Association are awarded to all competitions.


8. Registration and registration:


According to the "General Rules of the First National Mind Games Competition Rules".


9. Matters not covered will be notified separately.


10. The right to interpret this regulation belongs to the China Bridge Association
