Competition Rules for the 2009 National College Student Bridge Championships

5. Competition items: Open team competition, women's team competition, mixed team competition.
Open doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
6. Participation method: The Department of Education (Education Commission) of the provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and the college students (students) sports associations are responsible for the registration work in the region.
(1) Registration: All group member colleges and universities of the Bridge Branch of the China University Sports Association can register.
(2) Entry conditions:
1. Participating athletes must be full-time undergraduate and postgraduate college students and postgraduates with formal student status in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education on the unified entrance examination and admission of colleges and universities across the country, and have been approved by the admission committee (office) of the college where the candidates are located.
2. Participating athletes must be those who have passed the cultural examinations, abide by the relevant regulations of the school, and are in good health.
3. All athletes participating in the competition must be officially registered with the Joint Secretariat of the Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education and have obtained the "Chinese College Student Athlete Registration Card" after review.
4. Participating athletes must be under 28 years old (born after January 1, 1981)
(3) Participation method:
1. Each team is limited to 1 leader, 1 coach, and 4 to 6 athletes.
2. To participate in all competitions, students from the school must form a team, and no cross-school organization is allowed. Open team competitions, women's team competitions, and mixed team competitions are limited to one team for each group in each school.
3. Registration: All participating units will send the registration form to the Competition Department of the Joint Secretariat of the Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education before June 18, 2009 [Address: No. 602, Building 4, No. 8 Yard, Shangdi West Road, Haidian District, Beijing, 100085, Tel: 010 -66093800 Fax: 010-66093840]; Bridge Branch of China University Sports Association [Mail Box 38, No. 241 Weijin Road, Hexi District, Tianjin City, Jinzhou 300074], one copy for each. Overdue will not be accepted (subject to the postmark date).
4. Registration: All participating teams will report to the competition area on July 17 (Teams that do not participate in mixed competitions can report on the 19th). When registering, participating athletes must bring their student ID, ID card, college student athlete registration card and personal accident insurance policy.
5. All participants must apply for "personal accident insurance" (including during the competition and on the way to and from the competition) with the local insurance company.
(4) Procedures for registration:
1. The person in charge of the athlete’s school logs in to the registration center of the Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education (www.sports.edu.cn) or directly logs in to the school sports competition registration management system (Education Network: 202.205.109.196 Netcom/Telecom: 211.1151.94.148). Online registration of athletes, after the online review of the athlete’s office of education (Education Committee), will be reviewed and approved by the registration officer of the Student Sports Association Joint Secretariat of the Ministry of Education and the registration card will be issued. When registering, you need to fill in the athlete information, registration period, upload the athlete's photo, ID card, student ID scan, etc. (see the National Student Athlete Registration Management Regulations for details).

2. Registration fee: In accordance with the "National Student Athlete Registration Management Measures", each registered athlete will be charged a cost and handling fee of 20 yuan/year.
3. The deadline for registration is June 18, 2009. Overdue registration will not be accepted and no competition will be accepted.
7. Competition method:
(1) The competition implements the "Chinese Bridge Competition Rules" approved by the China Bridge Association and the "China Bridge Association Double Contract Bridge Competition Law (Trial)".
(2) Open team competition method: The competition is divided into two stages.
The first stage: adopting the Swiss system shift game, each round of the game 12 decks of cards, the game 6 rounds.
The second stage: knockout and play-offs.
Knockout: The top 8 players in the first stage will be in a knockout match. There are 24 decks of cards in the quarter-finals, 24 decks of cards in the semi-finals, and 32 decks of cards in the finals.
Play-offs: The Swiss-system shift game will continue, with 12 decks of cards in each round, and another 3 rounds. The teams that did not make the top 8 in the first stage and the losers in the quarter-finals brought all the results of the first stage into the play-offs. The top 4 in the play-offs ranked 5th to 8th in this competition.
(3) Women's team competition method: The competition is divided into two stages.
The first stage: adopting the Swiss system shift game, each round of the game 12 decks of cards, the game 5 rounds.
The second stage: knockout and play-offs.
Knockout: The top 8 players in the first stage will be in a knockout match. There are 24 decks of cards in the quarter-finals, 24 decks of cards in the semi-finals, and 32 decks of cards in the finals.
Play-offs: Continue with the Swiss system shift game, with 12 decks of cards in each round, and then play 2 rounds. The teams that did not make the top 8 in the first stage and the losers in the quarter-finals brought all the results of the first stage into the play-offs. The top 4 in the play-offs ranked 5th to 8th in this competition.
(Depending on the registration situation, the women's team competition may adopt a round robin in the first stage, and a knockout stage in the second stage.)
(4) Mixed team competition method: The preliminaries will be conducted in 5 rounds of Swiss shift competition, each round will have 8 decks of cards, and then the top 4 will have 24 decks of semi-finals and 28 decks of finals. The 5th to 8th place in the Swiss Shift Tournament is the 5th to 8th place in this competition. (Note that there is a time conflict between the mixed team finals and the mixed double finals. Players entering the mixed double finals cannot participate in the mixed team finals. Each team can consider it when registering and when arranging players in the mixed team finals).
(5) Competition method of the double match:
The Open Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles will each have one preliminary round and one final. The preliminaries adopt the group Mitchell system. It is expected to play 18-22 decks, and the results will be calculated according to the uniform scoring method of the whole game. The top 24 players will enter the finals. In the finals, a 12-table Mitchell system was used and 22 decks of cards were played.
(6) The competition is presided over by the competition team and the chief referee to draw lots.
(7) The competition strictly implements the regulations on handling violations of Chinese college students' sports competitions.
(8) Each pair of players need to bring 3 copies of the agreed card. One copy will be submitted to the competition team for review when registering, and the other two will be brought to the table during the competition.
(9) Natural and precise systems can be used in the competition, and other unconventional systems are prohibited. Don't use brown

8. Rewards: The top 8 winners in each competition will be rewarded and awarded with certificates.
9. Expenses: Participation funds are implemented in accordance with the national expenditure standards related to current sports competitions. When registering, each school must pay a group membership fee of 500 yuan, a registration fee of 50 yuan per person, and a board and lodging fee of 100 yuan/person/day. The round-trip travel expenses of each team shall be paid by themselves.
10. The method for the selection of referees and the arbitration committee shall be formulated separately. Matters not notice.
