The 2009 Hubei Provincial Bridge Championship was held in Jianghai Building of Hankou Naval Engineering University from October 14th to 21st. More than 300 bridge enthusiasts from 62 bridge teams across the province participated in the annual bridge event in Hubei Province. After eight days of intense and orderly competition, the men’s open group, mixed group, youth group, open double, women’s double, and mixed double have their own titles. In the open team competition, the veteran powerhouse and the only bridge A club in our province—Dongfeng Motor Bridge Club lived up to expectations and won the heaviest open men’s team championship, Huangshi (Changhe Fuel), Wuhan Railway, Wuhan (Innovative Education), Dongfeng Co., Ltd. , Chengchao Iron Mine won 2-6 of the public group; Wuhan team, Tianyaqiaoyuan, Yichang, Huangshi, Provincial Electric Power Company, and Jingzhou won the top six in the mixed team competition; the Central South Branch of Wuhan University of Science and Technology won the youth team championship again, Xiaogan The School of New Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, Mafangshan Campus of the University of Science and Technology, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology won 2-6.

In the open double competition where 42 pairs of players signed up, Li Jie (Geological University)/Wang Jihua (University of Science and Technology) succeeded all the way to the top! The two lifelong bridge masters of Dongfeng Motor Club, Yu Zhenhai/Li Zhigang (the current Hubei masters are the top two), finished second, and the provincial women’s training team player Ouyang Jianping/Li Lixuan won the third place in the Open Doubles. He Yong/Zhou Qinghua (Jianghan Oilfield), Xu Tao/Sun Yuhong (Dongqi), Shi Jiangyun/Du Jian (Wuhan Innovation Education) won 4-6. Qin Huiyun/Xu Yunxia, Zhou Xiaohong/Xu Wenxia from Tianyaqiao won the women's doubles champion and runner-up, single Xingxing/Liu Yanjiao (Wuhan University of Technology), Li Qing/Shou Jianghong (Wuhan Bridge Bureau), Li Xing (Wuhan University of Technology)/Meng Wei( Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics), Wang Ping/Yan Bijun (Yichang) won 3 to 6 places. The mixed doubles championship was won by Liu Shitong/Li Lixuan of the provincial training team, Wang Yueping/Wang Shu (Xiangfan), Dai Ke/Ouyang Jianping (Wuhan), Du Jian/Zheng Kawen (Wuhan Innovation Education), Li Zhi/Wu Wenjun ( Wuhan) Cheng Fangliang/Xu Yunxia (Tianyaqiaoyuan) won 3 to 6 places.

    Lu Honghai, vice chairman of the Provincial Bridge Association, and Tian Dongping, secretary general, presented trophies and award certificates to the winning teams and winners at the closing ceremony.
