43rd WORLD BRIDGE TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIPS

August 13, 2017

The 43rd World Bridge Championships – Lyon 2017 – are under way following the opening ceremony at the Hotel duVille, one of the largest historic buildings in the City, classified as an historic monument since 1886.

France hosted several times the World Championships since the Bermuda Bowl 1956 in Paris up to the World Bridge Games, incorporated in the World Mind Games 2012 in Lille, but it is the first time that a World Championship has been held in Lyon.

This year, at the same time the World Teams Championship, the World Open Transnational, the World Youth Teams Championship, the World Computer Championship, the Grand Prix Ville de Lyon and the International de France, will be held involving all together with an impressive number of 5,000 players.

We express our best wishes to all the participants of the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup, D’Orsi Trophy as well the Transnational teams who will join later for a wonderful tournament to enjoy. May this Independence Day give the moral boost and power to hold the Indian Flag high in the World Bridge arena.
