The Hong Kong City Bridge Championship is an international invitational tournament with a history of several decades. The youth group has a total of 20 teams participating in the competition. According to the competition rules, 10 teams from each of the Y and Z teams will be divided into 9 rounds of single-cycle competitions. Two entered the semi-finals and the winners of the semi-finals entered the finals.
In the first three days of the group round robin, the Beijing People's University Squadron defeated the Hong Kong University team and the Singapore Nanyang Technological University team and entered the semi-finals with a score of 8 wins and 1 loss.
In the semi-finals on the afternoon of August 1st, the opponent was the Hong Kong HEAT team who had beaten himself in the round robin.
