The two-day 12th Gansu Provincial College and University Bridge Team Student Group Competition ended on May 14th, 2006 at the Provincial Bridge Activity Center. The competition was hosted by the Gansu Provincial School Sports Association, hosted by Tianshui Normal College, and co-organized by the Gansu Provincial Bridge Association. 51 players from 11 student teams from five universities including Lanzhou University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Gansu Agricultural University, Gansu Union University and Lanzhou Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College participated in the competition. The competition was conducted in the form of a group round robin plus cross semifinals and finals, with a total of seven rounds and 16 decks per round. After two days of fierce fighting, the old team of Lanzhou Jiaotong University defeated Lanzhou University with a score of 57:18 in the final and won the championship by the sixth place in the previous session. The Lanzhou University team won the runner-up again, Gansu Agricultural University. The first team won the third place with the score of 43:39 and the third team of Gansu Agricultural University. The third team of Gansu Agricultural University ranked fourth.
After the game, a warm closing ceremony was held. The leaders of the Provincial Bridge Association and Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou University of Technology, and Gansu Agricultural University delivered speeches and presented awards to the winning team. The faculty competition will be held at Tianshui Normal University from May 20-21.
