The 2006 Hong Kong City Bridge Championship (28th) kicked off at the Miramar Hotel in Kowloon, Hong Kong on August 8th. The first was the Open Team and Youth Team.


Twenty teams from Hong Kong, China, Taipei, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Australia and Singapore participated in the competition for the most important event of the event - the open team competition. Among them, there are 5 teams participating in the Mainland: Ningbo City Exhibition, Jiangsu Taicang Yalu, Shenzhen Bridge Friends, Guangzhou Pearl River, Guangzhou Orange Team. In addition, there is a team consisting of Hangzhou players and Hong Kong players. .


The 20 teams in the open team competition are divided into Group A and Group B, with 10 teams in each group. The group stage uses a round robin with 16 decks per round and the cumulative VP is arranged every time. The top 4 teams in each group entered the knockout round. The 1/4 knockout is divided into 2 sections, 32 decks; the semi-final is divided into 3 sections, 48 decks; the final is divided into 4 sections, 64 decks. The open team competition will be broadcasted throughout the BBO and will be broadcast at the same time.


There are a total of 9 teams participating in the youth team competition. They are all from Hong Kong.


Other competitions for this year's Hong Kong City Championships include: multinational six-player, Swiss-made, open doubles, mixed doubles, consecutive doubles, and IMP doubles. All matches will end on August 13.
