The 3rd World University Bridge Competition will be held from October 21st to 26th, 2006 at Tianjin Normal University, China.
A total of 163 athletes, coaches and officials signed up for 27 teams from 22 countries and regions on four continents. Among the athletes enrolled, all of them are college students, with an average age of 23 years old, which basically represents the highest level of college students' bridge sports in the region, and some are members of the national youth team. This event is also a grand gathering of friendship exchanges. Many of these college students are from the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the region, including Stanford University, Norwegian University, and Hannover University. Two teams composed mainly of students from Tianjin Normal University and Peking University will represent the host to participate in this tournament.
