Led by the Department of Physical Education of the Higher Education Department of Guangdong Province, the Guangzhou Bridge Association was entrusted to organize the competition. This competition was to form the Guangdong University Students Bridge Team to participate in the Universiade Games held in Guangzhou next year. A total of three universities participated in the selection, namely Zhongshan University, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Shenzhen University, and attracted many middle school students to participate.
The trials were held in doubles for two rounds. In the morning, the Mike double-champion system was adopted. In the afternoon, Howell was divided into two lines.
The final championship was won by Shenzhen University.
