The national team challenge of the fourth phase of the 2020 National Bridge Network Championship Challenge was held on the 3rd between the national mixed bridge team and the national champion Shanghai University of Science and Technology team. After a total of 32 decks of cards in the first and second halves, the challenger University of Shanghai for Science and Technology defeated the National Mixed Bridge Team 102:82 and won the National Team Challenge.
The fourth phase of the National Bridge Network Championship Challenge will start on April 20th. The competition is divided into three stages: qualifier, national championship and national team challenge. The qualifiers are organized by local bridge associations. In this competition, a total of 987 teams from all over the country participated in the selection, and finally 94 teams entered the national championship. After 7 rounds of competition in 3 days, the Shanghai University of Science and Technology team stood out and won tickets to the national mixed bridge team challenge.
The National Team Challenge is divided into two halves, each with 16 decks of cards, and the winner is determined by the cumulative score. The national mixed bridge team composed of Chen Ji, Zhao Lin, Fuzhong, Feng Xuefeng, Hou Xie, and Huang Yan lost in the first half. In the end, the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology defeated the national mixed bridge team with a total score of 102:82, becoming the only nation to challenge successfully in all four matches. The 2020 National Bridge Network Championship Challenge is co-sponsored by the Group Department of the State Sports General Administration, the Chess and Card Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration and the China Bridge Association. There are four phases of the competition, with a total of more than 3,600 bridge teams and more than 20,000 bridge enthusiasts participating in the competition.
