Notice on organizing registration for the 2010 World Bridge Championships

Members of the Chinese Bridge Association:
The 2010 World Bridge Championships will be held in Philadelphia, USA from October 1st to 16th. According to the relevant regulations of the World Bridge Federation, there is no limit to the number of entries in the 2010 World Bridge Championships, but all entries must be made through the bridge association of the country where you live. The relevant matters concerning the 2010 World Bridge Championships and China Bridge Association’s registration for the 2010 World Bridge Championships are hereby notified as follows:
1. Competition time:
October 1-16, 2010. The opening ceremony will be held on October 1st and the closing ceremony will be held on October 16. See the attachment for the specific competition schedule.
2. Competition items:
The 2010 World Bridge Championships is a series of tournaments, including open team competitions, open doubles, women’s team, women’s doubles, mixed team, mixed doubles, IMP doubles and other competitions, as well as Swiss-based team competitions and mixed doubles. Additional consolation games such as consolation games and mixed team Swiss-system consolation games.
3. Registration fee:
(1) Application fee standard:
Open/Women’s Team: USD 1,500/team (discounted price of USD 1,200/team)
Open/Women's Double Match: US$750/pair (discounted price of US$600/pair)
Mixed team competition: US$600/team (a discounted price of US$400/team, including consolation games)
Mixed double match: 450 USD/pair (discounted price of 350 USD/pair, including consolation match)
IMP Double Preliminaries: US$300/pair (Preferential price of US$250/pair)
IMP Double Finals: 350 USD/pair (Preferential price 300 USD/pair)
Swiss-style team competition: USD 300 per team (a discounted price of USD 250 per team)
(2) Conditions for enjoying preferential prices: During the entire competition period, at least 4 athletes in the team competition will stay in hotels designated by the World Bridge Federation, and 2 athletes in the double competition will stay in hotels designated by the World Bridge Federation.
4. Application conditions:
(1) Applying to the China Bridge Association to participate in the 2010 World Bridge Championships must be conducted through the unit members of the China Bridge Association.
(2) Athletes who apply to participate in the 2010 World Bridge Championships must be individual members of the China Bridge Association.
(3) Units and athletes who apply to participate in the 2010 World Bridge Championships must obey the unified management of the China Bridge Association and, if necessary, obey the unified command.
(4) Athletes who apply to participate in the 2010 World Bridge Championships must obey the relevant rules of the World Bridge Federation during the competition period, and must not have any problems with the style and discipline of the competition. The participating athletes should be able to communicate in English.
(5) Units and athletes who apply to participate in the 2010 World Bridge Championships must guarantee to participate in the competition.
5. The China Bridge Association is responsible for registering with the World Bridge Federation and obtaining an invitation letter from the competition organizing committee. All units handle foreign affairs visit procedures on their own according to local foreign affairs. Everyone is responsible for their own expenses.
6. Application deadline:
Apply to the China Bridge Association to participate in the 2010 World Bridge Championships must be submitted before January 31, 2010. After the deadline, there will be no organization registration items.
