The 2008 "Sports Lottery Cup" Western Bridge Tournament, sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Bridge Association and co-organized by the Sichuan Sports Lottery Management Center, was held from September 28 to October 3 at the Moon Island Hotel in Chengdu.
Bridge players from the province and Chongqing and other places gathered in Chengdu during the National Day to learn card skills and exchange experience. 43 teams participated in the open team competition, 26 teams participated in the Swiss system team competition, 84 pairs of players participated in the open double and mixed double competition, and 60 pairs of players participated in the additional double competition. After five days of fierce competition, Jinjiang Electronics team won the open team championship, Sichuan Hongrui team won second place, Linxin Technology team won third place, and Chengdu Kailong team won fourth place. The top six teams in the Swiss system competition are: Sichuan Sanhe Construction Aircraft Team, Internal Power Plant Team, Sichuan Rural Credit Union Team, Zhongyu Medical Team, Rongjin Abacus Team, Shifang Blue Sword Team. The competition was a complete success.
