Rules for the 2022 National Bridge A-Class Club League Competition


1、 Competitive events

2、 Participating units


A Class A bridge club officially registered with the China Bridge Association in 2022.


3、 Participation method


(1) All participating athletes must be registered athletes of the China Bridge Association in 2022 and be non outstanding individual members of the China Bridge Association. The representative qualifications of participating athletes are based on the A-class clubs registered in 2022. Supplementary registered athletes (including foreign athletes) who have not represented the club in this year's league station competition are not allowed to participate in the finals.


(2) Each team of athletes must ensure at least 4 full-time players registered with the China Bridge Association for this club.


(3) In each participating sports team, the number of foreign athletes participating in each station shall not exceed 2.


(4) Station race: Each club sends one team to participate. For each race, each team can have one leader, one coach, and 4-6 athletes.


(5) Finals: One team from each of the top four clubs in the total score rankings of the sub stations will participate. Each team can have one leader, one coach, and 4-6 athletes.


(6) Each team shall bear their own participation fees.


4、 Competition methods


(1) Station race


1. First stop: Single round robin. Each game consists of 16 deck cards, ranked by VP points.


2. Second station: divided into two stages


Phase 1: Single round robin. Each game consists of 16 deck cards, ranked by VP points. After accumulating VP points in the two stations, the top 4 will enter the finals, and the 13-16 will participate in the playoffs.




Phase 2: playoffs




(1) 1st round knockout round




In the knockout stage, the 14th place team will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team retains the qualification of a Class A club, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-1.




In the knockout stage, players from 1 to 2:15 and 16th place will compete in 48 deck games, divided into 3 sections with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team enters the knockout stage 2-1, while the losing team is suspended from being a Class A club.




(2) 2nd round knockout round




Knockout stage 2-1: The negative team in knockout stage 1-1 and the winning team in knockout stage 1-2 will compete in 48 deck games, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winning team retains their qualification as an A-class club, while the negative team suspends their qualification as an A-class club.




(2) Finals: Adopting Double Defeat knockout rounds




The winning area has 96 deck cards per game, divided into 6 sections, with 16 deck cards per section; The losing area has 64 cards per game, divided into 4 sections, with 16 cards per section. The winner of each game is determined by the IMP, which is the same. The team ranked first in the total number of races wins.




1. Round 1 knockout round: The team ranked first in the sub round has the right to choose opponents from the last two teams. The winning team enters the winning zone in the second round of elimination, while the losing team enters the losing zone in the second round of elimination.




2. Round 2 knockout rounds: The winning team in the winning area enters the final, while the losing team enters the losing area in the third round of knockout rounds. The winning team in the losing area entered the losing area in the third round of knockout rounds, and finished fourth in the total score of the losing team.




3. Third round knockout round: The winning team enters the final and the losing team ranks third in the total score.




4. Final: The winning team wins the championship, while the losing team wins the runner up.




(3) The competition adopts the "China Bridge Competition Rules" approved by the China Bridge Association in 2018 and the "Supplementary Provisions to the China Bridge Competition Rules" (2020).




(4) The complete electronic version of all Chinese system cards and their accompanying pages for each team's playing combination must be transmitted to the ccba@sport.gov.cn .




(5) Each pair of players will bring two complete copies of the Chinese system card and its accompanying pages to the table during the competition.




5、 Admission Ranking and Rewards




(1) The top 6 students will be awarded certificates based on their total scores, with the top 3 students receiving medals.




(2) Each station will be ranked in the top 3, with medals and certificates awarded.




(3) Master Score




1. Ranking points




The sub station competition will be awarded a ranking point based on 30% of the master's score in the final. The final will be awarded a Master Score by the China Bridge Association in accordance with the "Technical Grade Standards for Members of the China Bridge Association".




2. Winning points




In the round robin stage of the station race, 2 master points will be awarded for each win, and 1 master point will be awarded for each draw.




(4) Bonus




1. Victory Award




In the round robin stage of the station race, the winning team will receive 1000 yuan, and in a draw, each team will receive 500 yuan.




2. The final prize money shall be executed in accordance with supplementary regulations.




6、 Qualification Tournament




(1) Decide whether to hold an A-class club qualification tournament depending on the situation. If a qualification competition is held simultaneously with the final, the competition method will be determined based on the registration situation.




(2) The qualifying round will generate no more than two spots and qualify for the 2023 National Bridge A-Class Club League. Both teams must register as members of the China Bridge Association A-Class Club in 2023, and retain no less than four athletes with a 50% appearance rate participating in the qualifying round as full-time players in the club department.




(3) The teams participating in the qualification competition include:




2 clubs suspended from the 2022 A-Class Club League. The participating athletes of the above clubs must be replaced, and a maximum of one pair of registered players of this club is allowed to be retained. The replaced athletes must not be athletes who have participated in the 2022 National Bridge A-Class Club League.




2. The men's first division relegation team and men's second division promotion team of the 2022 National Bridge Club Championship. No athletes from the above teams are allowed to participate in the 2022 National Bridge Class A Club League, and no less than 4 athletes with an appearance rate of over 50% must be retained to participate.




3. Except for two clubs that have suspended their qualifications, if there are no other teams (teams in the category specified in the second paragraph of this article, the same below) who have registered, no qualification matches will be held, and there will be vacancies in the 2023 League's two A-class clubs; If there is no suspended qualification club registration and the number of registered teams does not exceed 2, no qualification competition will be held, and the registered team will directly obtain the A-class club quota; If only one suspended club and one other team register, the qualifying match will be held between the two teams, resulting in only one A-class club spot.




7、 Friendship Tournament




The sub station competition will determine whether to hold a social competition at the same time depending on the situation, and the competition method will be determined based on the registration situation. In principle, each station should not exceed 20 teams, and the participating units and qualifications are as follows:




(1) Participating units




1. Each club participating in the current league can send one team;




2. Undertaking unit: 1 team;




3. The competition is sponsored by one team of enterprises;




4. The team designated by the China Bridge Association.




(2) Qualification




Each A-class club participating in a social competition must meet at least one of the following three conditions:




1. The club invests to participate in the competition, and the appearance rate must reach 1/3;




2. One pair of athletes registered with the club must participate, and each player must have a attendance rate of 1/3;




3. There is one pair of athletes under the age of 35 participating, and each player must have a attendance rate of 1/3.




8、 Registration and check-in




(1) Registration




1. Each unit must submit one registration form for each station to the China Bridge Association and the competition area before the deadline specified in the supplementary notice for each competition, and also register in the special event of China Bridge Network.




2. Registration fee: 5000 yuan per team for the first, second, and final races. The registration fee will be collected by the organizer.




3. Change the list




(1) Within the specified time after the registration deadline, each participating team may submit a written request to the China Bridge Association to change the list (including adding, reducing, changing athletes, correcting registration errors, etc.).




(2) If the list is changed after the specified time, an application form for changing the list must be filled out and submitted to the competition team of the university before the start of the first competition. A handling fee of 100 yuan must be paid for each change.




(2) The referee reports 2 days before the competition, and the participating team reports 1 day before the competition.




9、 The selection method for judges and arbitration committees shall be separately formulated.




10、 Other




(1) Participating teams must purchase personal accident insurance (including during the competition and during the round-trip journey).




(2) The team leader meeting is scheduled to be held at 20:30 one day before the competition, and each participating team must be attended by the team leader or coach.




(3) Matters not covered will be notified separately.
