Regulations for the 2022 National Bridge Mixed Team Competition
1、 Competitive events
Mixed Team Tournament
2、 Participating units
Member of the China Bridge Association who completed annual registration in 2022.
3、 Participation method
(1) All individual members and enthusiasts of the China Bridge Association are eligible to register for the competition.
(2) Registered athletes should have priority in representing their registered units in the competition. Double registered athletes should have priority in representing their first registered unit in the competition. Registered athletes who represent other units in the competition must represent them only after all registered units to which they belong have no objections.
(3) Each team can enroll 4-6 athletes, including 2-4 male athletes and 2-4 female athletes. The playing partner must be composed of 1 male athlete and 1 female athlete.
(4) Each participating team shall bear their own participation fees.
4、 Competition methods
(1) The competition is divided into two stages
1. Stage 1: Qualifying Competition
A total of 11 rounds of point arrangement matches will be held, with 12 deck cards in each round, and the results of each team will be ranked based on accumulated VP points. The top 24 teams enter the second stage knockout stage, while the remaining teams enter the playoffs with points.
2. Phase 2: knockout rounds
(1) 1st round knockout round
Knockout round 1-1: In the first stage, the 1-8th place team will compete in a 36 pack game, divided into 3 sections with 12 packs per section. The winner will be determined by IMP, and the teams ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will have the right to select opponents from the 5-8th place team in order. The winning team enters the semi-finals, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-1.
Knockout round 1-2: In the first stage, the 9-16 players will compete in a 36 pack game, divided into 3 sections with 12 packs each, and the winner will be determined by the IMP. Teams ranked 9th, 10th, and 11th have the right to select opponents from 13th to 16th in order. The winning team enters the second round of knockout stage 2-1, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-2.
Knockout stage 1-3: In the first stage, the 17th to 24th contestants will compete in a 36 pack game, divided into 3 sections with 12 packs each, and the winner will be determined by the IMP. Teams ranked 17th, 18th, and 19th have the right to select opponents from the 21st to 24th places in order. The winning team enters the second round of knockout stage 2-2, while the losing team is eliminated.
(2) 2nd round knockout round
Semifinals: The four winning teams in the knockout stage, 1-1, will compete in a 48 pack game, divided into 4 sections with 12 packs each, and the winner will be determined by the IMP. Teams that rank first again based on their first stage results have the right to choose opponents from those ranked third and fourth. The winning team enters the final, while the losing team enters the fourth round of knockout rounds.
Knockout stage 2-1: The 4 losing teams in knockout stage 1-1 and the 4 winning teams in knockout stage 1-2 compete in a 24 deck game, divided into 2 sections with 12 deck cards in each section, and the winner is determined by IMP. Teams ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd based on their first stage results have the right to select opponents from the 5th to 8th teams in order. The winning team enters the third round of knockout rounds, while the losing team is ranked 9-12 based on their preliminary results.
Knockout stage 2-2: The 4 losing teams in knockout stage 1-2 and the 4 winning teams in knockout stage 1-3 will compete in a 24 deck game, divided into 2 sections with 12 deck cards in each section, and the winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is ranked 13th to 16th based on their preliminary results, while the losing team is eliminated.
(3) 3rd round knockout round
The 4 winning teams in the knockout stage 2-1 will compete in a 24 pack game, divided into 2 sections with 12 packs each, and the winner will be determined by the IMP. The team that is ranked first again based on their preliminary results has the right to select opponents from the teams ranked third and fourth. The winning team enters the fourth round of knockout rounds, while the losing team is ranked 7th and 8th based on their preliminary results.
(4) 4th round knockout round
The two losing teams in the semi-finals and the two winning teams in the third round of the knockout round will play a game of 24 cards in two sections, with 12 cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team enters the 3rd or 4th place competition, while the losing team is ranked 5th or 6th according to their preliminary results.
(5) Finals and 3rd and 4th place competitions
The final will consist of a 60 pack game, divided into 5 sections with 12 packs each, and the winner will be determined by the IMP. 3. 4 players compete in a 24 pack game, divided into 2 sections with 12 packs each, and the winner is determined by IMP.
(2) The competition adopts the "China Bridge Competition Rules" approved by the China Bridge Association in 2018 and the "Supplementary Provisions to the China Bridge Competition Rules" (2020).
(3) Each pair of players will bring 2 copies of the Chinese system card and its attached page to the table during the competition.
5、 Admission Ranking and Rewards
(1) The top 6 contestants will be awarded certificates, and the top 3 contestants will be awarded medals.
(2) The top 16 players in the competition qualified for the 2023 National Bridge Mixed Team Tournament as the first tier team.
(3) The competition is awarded the Master Score of the China Bridge Association according to the "Technical Grade Standards for Members of the China Bridge Association".
6、 Registration and check-in
(1) Registration
1. Each unit must submit one registration form to the China Bridge Association and one competition area before the deadline specified in the supplementary notice, and also register in the special event of China Bridge Network. Failure to do so will result in waiver.
2. All participating teams composed of non outstanding individual members of the China Bridge Association will be charged a registration fee of 1000 yuan per team according to the following standards. The registration fee for non member and delinquent members of the competition will be added by 50 yuan per person on top of the above. The registration fee will be collected by the organizer.
3. Change the list
(1) Within the specified time after the registration deadline, each participating team may submit a written request to the China Bridge Association to change the list (including adding, reducing, changing athletes, correcting registration errors, etc.).
(2) If the list is changed after the specified time, an application form for changing the list must be filled out and submitted to the competition team of the university before the start of the first competition. A handling fee of 100 yuan must be paid for each change.
(2) Reporting
The referee will report to the competition area 3 days before the competition, and each participating team will report to the competition area 1 day before the competition.
7、 The selection method for judges and arbitration committees shall be separately formulated.
8、 Other
(1) Participating teams must purchase personal accident insurance (including during the competition and during the round-trip journey).
(2) The team leader meeting is scheduled to be held at 20:30 one day before the competition, and each participating team must be attended by the team leader or coach.
(3) Matters not covered will be notified separately.
