Competition Rules for the 2022 National Bridge Club Championship
1、 Competitive events
Open group and women's group competitions
2、 Participating units
(1) Open Group: A member of the China Bridge Association club who completed annual registration in 2022.
1. Class A team
Aoruijin, Zhejiang Qiantang, Shanghai Yitong, Pioneer International, Huabin Zhiyun, Jinsha Yunya, Mianyang Jinshuo, Athletic World, Pude, Shanghai Finance, Jilin Dingyuan, Beijing Hengzhou, Zhejiang Nuohui, Guangzhou Red Cotton, Hengyuanxiang, and Shanghai Green City. 2. Second level team
Shanghai Wujiang, Zhejiang Jinjiang, Suzhou the Taihu Lake Lake, Wuyi Xianfanfudi, Shenzhen Nangang Power, Three Gorges Guangbo, Hainan Manying, Wuhan Dongfang, Shenzhen North China Industrial Control, Shenzhen Chess Academy, Locomotive, Shanghai Qihao, Changchun Qiyuan, Hebei Landi, Rongxin Lanqiao, Jiangsu Jiahong, Bosi Software, Zhuzhou City, Guizhou Zhengye, Inner Mongolia Junzheng, Sichuan Changhong, Shanxi Chuangyuan Equipment, Sanya Haihe.
3. Class C team: Participating clubs must meet at least one of the following conditions:
(1) As of 2022, the club has been registered with the China Bridge Association for three consecutive years.
(2) During the period from 2021 to 2022, more than 5 (including) competitions were held to award Master Points to the China Bridge Association.
(3) A bridge club that is officially registered with the local business or civil affairs department and has a valid registration certificate.
(2) Women's group: All types of clubs registered with the China Bridge Association are eligible to participate.
3、 Athlete qualifications
(1) All individual members and enthusiasts of the China Bridge Association are eligible to register for the competition. Among them, the athletes in the Open Class A and Class B, as well as the Women's Class, must be non outstanding individual members of the China Bridge Association.
(2) Club registered athletes should have priority in representing their registered club in the competition.
(3) Registered athletes who represent non registered clubs must represent both the priority registration unit and the registered club before participating.
(4) Class A clubs must have 4 or more registered full-time players participating on behalf of other clubs to participate.
4、 Participation method
(1) Each club can enroll one team to participate in the competition, and each team can enroll one leader, one coach, and 4-6 athletes.
(2) Each team shall bear their own participation fees.
5、 Competition methods
(1) Competition method
1. Open Group A: divided into two stages.
Stage 1: Single round robin, with 16 cards per game, ranked by VP points. 1-4 will enter knockout stage 1-1, 5-8 will enter knockout stage 1-2, 9 and 10 will be relegated, 11 and 12 will enter knockout stage 1-3, 13 and 14 will enter knockout stage 1-4, and 15 and 16 will be relegated.
Phase 2: Division knockout rounds.
(1) 1st round knockout round
Knockout stage 1-1: In the first stage, 1-4 players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The first ranked team has the right to choose opponents from the third and fourth ranked teams. The winning team enters the final, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-1.
Knockout round 1-2: In the first stage, 5-8 players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The 5th ranked team has the right to choose opponents from the 7th and 8th ranked teams. The winning team enters the knockout stage 2-1, while the losing team is relegated.
Knockout stage 1-3: In the first stage, the 11th and 12th place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-2.
Knockout stage 1-4: In the first stage, the 13th and 14th place teams will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team enters the knockout stage 2-2, while the losing team is relegated.
(2) 2nd round knockout round
Knockout stage 2-1: The two losing teams in knockout stage 1-1 and the two winning teams in knockout stage 1-2 compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner is determined by IMP. The team ranked first in the first stage among the four teams has the right to choose opponents from the teams ranked third and fourth. The winning team enters the 3rd or 4th place competition, while the losing team is ranked 5th or 6th according to the first stage ranking.
Knockout stage 2-2: The losing team in knockout stage 1-3 will compete with the winning team in knockout stage 1-4 in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team is relegated.
(3) Finals and 3-4 place competitions
Finals: 80 deck games will be held in 5 sections, with 16 deck games per section. The winner will be determined by IMP
3. 4 player competition: A 32 pack card competition will be held in 2 sections, with 16 pack cards per section. The winner will be determined by IMP.
2. Public Group B: divided into three stages.
Phase 1: Divide into 2 groups in a serpentine arrangement based on the previous year's ranking. Group round robin, with 16 cards per game, ranked by VP points. The 6th place in each group will be promoted and the 12th place will be demoted. The first to fifth participants in each group will enter the second stage group A, while the seventh to eleventh participants in each group will enter the second stage group B.
Phase 2:
Group A: Each team will take points from the first stage group VP (between 1-5) and compete with the top 5 teams from another group in the first stage. Rank 1-10 in this stage according to the cumulative VP. 1. 2 players will be promoted, 3 and 4 players will enter knockout stage 1-1, 5 and 6 players will enter knockout stage 1-2, and 7-10 players will be relegated.
Group B: Each team leads the first stage group VP (between 7-11) to score points and compete with 5 teams (7-11) from another group in the first stage. The ranking of Group B in this stage is arranged according to the accumulated VP. The 1-4th place in Group B enters knockout stage 1-3, the 5-8th place enters knockout stage 1-4, and the 9th and 10th places are relegated.
Stage 3: Division knockout rounds.
(1) 1st round knockout round
Knockout stage 1-1: In the second stage, the third and fourth place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team is promoted, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-1.
Knockout stage 1-2: In the second stage, players 5 and 6 will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP, and the winning team will enter knockout stage 2-1. The losing team will be relegated.
Knockout stage 1-3: In the second stage, 1-4 players from Group B will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections with 16 deck cards per section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The first ranked team has the right to choose opponents from the third and fourth ranked teams. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-2.
Knockout stage 1-4: In the second stage, Group B, 5-8 players, will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The 5th ranked team has the right to choose opponents from the 7th and 8th ranked teams. The winning team enters the knockout stage 2-2, while the losing team is relegated.
(2) 2nd round knockout round
Knockout stage 2-1: The losing team in knockout stage 1-1 will compete with the winning team in knockout stage 1-2 in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is promoted, while the losing team is relegated.
Knockout stage 2-2: The two losing teams in knockout stage 1-3 will compete with the two winning teams in knockout stage 1-4 in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections with 16 deck cards per section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The team ranked first in the second stage among the four teams has the right to choose an opponent from the team ranked third or fourth, with the winning team relegated and the losing team relegated.
3. Open Group Level C: divided into two stages.
Stage 1: The competition method will be determined based on the registration situation. 1. 2 players will be promoted, 3-8 players will enter knockout stage 1-1, and 9-14 players will enter knockout stage 1-2.
Phase 2: Division knockout rounds.
(1) 1st round knockout round
Knockout stage 1-1: In the first stage, teams with positions 3 and 4 have the right to choose opponents from teams with positions 6 to 8 in order. They will play a 48 deck game in 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is promoted, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-1.
Knockout stage 1-2: In the first stage, teams ranked 9th and 10th have the right to choose opponents from teams ranked 12th to 14th in order, and participate in a 48 deck game consisting of 3 sections with 16 deck cards per section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team enters knockout stage 2.
(2) 2nd round knockout round
Knockout stage 2: The three losing teams in knockout stage 1-1 will compete with the three winning teams in knockout stage 1-2 in a 48 deck game, divided into three sections with 16 deck cards per section. The winner will be determined by IMP. Among the six teams, the teams ranked first and second in the first stage have the right to choose opponents from the teams ranked 4-6 in order, and the winning team will be promoted.
4. Women's group
16 deck cards per game. The specific competition method depends on the registration situation.
(2) Promotion and demotion quota
1. Public Group A
Demote 4 teams to the second tier team.
2. Public Group B
Promote 4 teams to the first level team and demote 8 teams to the third level team.
3. Public Group Grade C
Promote to team 8 to team 2.
4. Women's group
The competition will not be classified temporarily
(3) The competition adopts the "China Bridge Competition Rules" approved by the China Bridge Association in 2018 and the "Supplementary Provisions to the China Bridge Competition Rules" (2020).
(4) Each pair of players will bring 2 copies of the Chinese system card and its attached page to the table during the competition.
6、 Admission Ranking and Rewards
(1) The top 6 teams in the Open Division A and Women's Groups will be awarded certificates, with the top 3 being awarded medals.
(2) Open formation of Class A relegation teams and Class B promotion teams, if there are no athletes in the team who have participated in the 2022 National Bridge Class A Club League, and the team needs to retain four athletes with a playing rate of more than 50%, they have the right to participate in the 2023 Class A Club League qualification tournament.
(3) Two teams from the women's group were selected in order to qualify for the 2023 National Bridge Club Women's League.
(4) All levels of competitions are awarded Master Points by the China Bridge Association in accordance with the "Technical Grade Standards for Members of the China Bridge Association".
7、 Registration and check-in
(1) Registration
1. Each unit must submit one registration form to the China Bridge Association and one competition area before the deadline specified in the supplementary notice, and also register in the special event of China Bridge Network. Failure to do so will result in waiver.
2. All participating teams composed of non outstanding individual members of the China Bridge Association will be charged a registration fee of 1000 yuan per team according to the following standards. The registration fee for non member and delinquent members of the competition will be added by 50 yuan per person on top of the above. The registration fee will be collected by the organizer.
3. Change the list
(1) Within the specified time after the registration deadline, each participating team may submit a written request to the China Bridge Association to change the list (including adding, reducing, changing athletes, correcting registration errors, etc.).
(2) If the list is changed after the specified time, an application form for changing the list must be filled out and submitted to the competition team of the university before the start of the first competition. A handling fee of 100 yuan must be paid for each change.
(2) Reporting
The referee will report to the competition area 3 days before the competition, and each participating team will report to the competition area 1 day before the competition.
8、 The selection method for judges and arbitration committees shall be separately formulated.
9、 Other
(1) Participating teams must purchase personal accident insurance (including during the competition and during the round-trip journey).
(2) The team leader meeting is scheduled to be held at 20:30 one day before the competition, and each participating team must be attended by the team leader or coach.
(3) Matters not covered will be notified separately.
