2021 National Bridge Championships Supplementary Regulations


1. Implement the "Chinese Bridge Competition Rules" and the "Chinese Bridge Competition Rules Supplementary Regulations" (2020) approved by the Chinese Bridge Association in 2018.


2. Competition procedure


(1) Competition method (according to the requirements of the General Administration for epidemic prevention and control, the original part of the competition method may be adjusted, and the adjustment shall be implemented in accordance with these regulations), competition qualifications, registration methods, registration fee standards, etc. are all implemented in accordance with the competition regulations.


(2) The yellow system is prohibited in all competitions. Except for the 1/4 finals of the knockout rounds of the open team and the women's team and subsequent competitions, which are allowed to use the fully disclosed brown contract, other competitions are prohibited from using the brown contract.


(3) Each athlete must bring the pair's Chinese system card to the competition.


(4) When using electronic information collection equipment to score points in this competition, athletes must first enter their membership numbers after entering the field before the competition.


(5) If there is a waiver in the competition, it must be approved by the chief referee. Abstentions without the consent of the chief referee are unreasonable abstentions and will be disqualified from all subsequent competitions.


3. Game time limit


(1) Playing time limit: All athletes must be seated 5 minutes before the specified start time of the competition to prepare for the competition.


(2) Each event will be played according to the time specified in the competition and the time required by the chief referee.


(3) Timeout of the game: When the team game reaches the specified end time of the game, all the cards that have not been called will be cancelled, and the time limit of the cards that have been called will be 8 minutes. However, for the points-based competition, the penalty points for overtime will still be calculated from the end time specified in the competition; no penalty points will be imposed in the knockout rounds. The double match shall be executed at the request of the chief referee.


(4) Unless otherwise requested by the chief referee, in games that do not use electronic information collection equipment, within 10 minutes after the end of each quarter (round) of the team game, the winning team (the home team when the IMP is tied) will be verified and signed by both parties. The first joint score sheet of the open and closed rooms is handed over to the recording desk.


4. Complaint


(1) An arbitration committee will be set up for the competition to accept appeals.


(2) All appeals must be submitted to the referee with the consent of the team leader within 30 minutes after the specified end time of the game (section) (if the chief referee requires otherwise), and the appeal procedure shall be performed according to the regulations. The appeal fee is RMB 500 each time.


 


Open Team Competition Regulations


1. Competition method


(1) Preliminaries


1. There will be 8 rounds of points arrangement competition, 12 decks of cards in each round, ranked according to VP points, and the top 32 will enter the single-elimination round. The top eight will be ranked 1st-8th according to the ranking of the seeded teams plus the preliminaries, and the 9th-32nd will be ranked according to the sequence number of the seeded teams from the 9th.


2. The calculation method of the ranking points of the seeded teams and the ranking points of the preliminaries: the No. 1 seed and the first place in the preliminaries shall be calculated according to the number of participating teams plus 1; Add 1 to the preliminaries ranking. The team with the highest total score combined with the ranking score of the seeded teams and the preliminaries will be ranked in the top.


(2) Single-elimination playoffs


1. Starting from the third day, 32 teams will play a single-elimination match with 48 decks of cards, which will be divided into 4 quarters. Among them, the 3rd and 4th playoffs will play 24 decks of cards, which will be played in 2 quarters; the final will be broadcast live and will be played in 48 quarters. The deck game is divided into 4 quarters, each with 12 decks. The teams ranked 1-8 have the right to select opponents from the teams ranked 17-32 in order, and the remaining teams will automatically match each other in turn. The game is decided by IMP.


2. In the event of a tie and it is necessary to play extra games, 1 extra card will be played in the 24-deck game, and 4 additional cards will be played in the 48-deck game.


2. Sorting and arrangement of seed teams


(1) Sorting of seed teams


 1. Those who change the list of players before 22:00 on May 15th will be sorted according to their changes. Those who change the team list after 22:00 on May 15th will be ranked in the last serial number position of all participating teams according to the time of change. No changes to the team list will be allowed after 18:00 on May 16.


2. If there are two or more teams with the same master score or no master score, the running officer will draw lots to assign the sequence number.


(2) Arrangement of preliminaries


The first round of arrangement is based on the seed number in a U-shaped match, and then the arrangement is arranged according to high to high and low to low. If the number of participating teams is odd, the team in the middle of the serial number in the first round will have a bye, and the team with the fewest points in each subsequent round will have a bye, and the bye team will be scored as 12 VP.


(3) Arrangement of single-elimination playoffs

3. Home and Away Teams and Seat Selection


(1) Preliminaries: In odd-numbered rounds, the team with the smaller team number will be the home team, and in the even-numbered rounds, the team with the larger team number will be the home team. Neither party has the right to choose a seat, and the method of direct seating is adopted.


(2) Single-elimination playoffs: The home team is ranked by the former. In each 24-deck game, the home team has a seat option in the 2nd quarter and the away team has a seat option in the 1st quarter. In each 48-deck game, the home team has seat options in quarters 1 and 4, and the visiting team has seat options in quarters 2 and 3. Teams that do not have the right to choose seats in each quarter will be seated first, and teams that have the right to choose seats will be seated last. In the event of a tie and an extra game is required, the home and away teams remain unchanged, and neither side has the right to choose seats.


4. Competition procedure


(1) Prefabricated game cards by computer.


(2) Use electronic information collection equipment to score points.


(3) In the preliminaries, a pair of partners can only use psychological bidding in one deck of cards at most in each round, and the use of psychological bidding is not limited in the knockout stage.


 Five, with points


 Entering the knockout stage, no points will be awarded.


 


Women's team competition


1. Competition method


The competition is divided into two stages with a total of 6 units.


The first stage uses points to arrange the competition, a total of 6 rounds, 8 decks of cards in each round, ranking according to VP points, the top 8 will enter the second stage.


The second stage is the knockout round. The top 3 teams in the first stage have the right to choose their opponents from 5-8 in turn, and the first team has the right to choose their opponents in this area. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played with 24 decks of cards, divided into 2 quarters. The final will be played with 48 decks of cards, divided into 4 quarters. The 3-4 play-offs will be played with 24 decks of cards, divided into 2 quarters. The game is decided by IMP.


If there is a tie and need to play extra, 24 decks will be played with 1 deck, and 48 decks will be played with 4 decks.


2. Arrangement


In the first stage of the competition, the number of each team and the first-round matchup will be determined by the running officer by drawing lots. It is then arranged according to high to high and low to low. If the number of participating teams is odd, the bye team operator in the first round will draw lots to decide, and the team with the fewest points in each subsequent round will be bye, and the bye team will be scored as 12 VP.

Rules for mixed team competitions


1. Competition method


The competition is divided into two stages with a total of 6 units.


The first stage uses points to arrange the competition, a total of 9 rounds, 8 decks of cards in each round, ranked according to VP points, the top 32 will enter the second stage, and each team will not be awarded points.


In the second stage, a total-win system is used to arrange points, and there are 5 rounds of competitions, each with 12 decks of cards. The winning team is the first, and the other teams are ranked 2-32 according to VP points.


2. Arrangement


(1) The serial numbers of each team and the first-round matchup in the first stage of the competition will be decided by the running officer by drawing lots. The ranking in the first stage is the number of each team in the second stage. In the second stage, the first round will be arranged according to 1 vs. 32, 2 vs. 31, ..., 16 vs. 17. After that, points will be arranged in the winning area and the negative area respectively.


(2) Appearance list: The two-stage competition adopts the direct seating method, and neither side has the right to choose a seat. The home and away teams of each round are subject to the referee's announcement.


(3) If there is a tie, it is necessary to add a deck of cards. The home and away teams are decided by drawing lots, and neither side has the right to choose seats.


3. Competition procedure

(2) Psychological bidding: it is forbidden to use in the first stage; in the second stage, a pair of partners can only be used in one deck of cards at most in each round of competition.


 


Rules for Open Doubles


1. Competition method


The competition is divided into three stages: preliminaries, semi-finals and finals. The preliminaries are organized by points, with 13 rounds of 3 decks of cards in each round, and the top 48 pairs are selected to enter the semi-finals; the semi-finals adopt the group Howell system, divided into 2 groups, each group of 24 pairs, each group has 23 rounds of competition, each round 2 decks of cards, take the top 16 pairs to enter the final. The final adopts the Howell competition system. There are 15 rounds of competition, each round of 3 decks.


2. Arrangement


In the first round of the preliminaries, the running officer will draw lots to determine the seats of the athletes, and the second round and later will be arranged from high to low. In the event of an odd number of participating pairs, the first round will have a random bye, and the second and subsequent rounds with the lowest points will have a bye, with a maximum of one bye per pair.


The semi-final stage will be divided into 2 groups according to the results of the preliminaries, and the serial number of the final stage will be determined according to the ranking of the semi-final stage.


3. Competition procedure


(1) Prefabricated game cards by computer.


(2) The use of psychological bidding is prohibited.


(3) There will be no points for the semi-finals and finals.


 


Women's Doubles Regulations


1. Competition method


The competition system is adopted, no preliminaries and finals, and a total of 3 units. The competition is organized by points, with 13 rounds and 5 decks of cards in each round. The ranking is determined by the average percentage, with the highest ranking first.


2. Arrangement


In the first round of the competition, the running officer will draw lots to determine the seats of the athletes, and in the second round and onwards, they will be arranged from high to low. In the event of an odd number of participating pairs, the first round will have a random bye, and the second and subsequent rounds with the lowest points will have a bye, with a maximum of one bye per pair.


3. Competition procedure


(1) Prefabricated game cards by computer.


(2) The use of psychological bidding is prohibited.


 


Rules for Mixed Doubles


1. Competition method


The competition is divided into three stages: preliminaries, semi-finals and finals. 1. Competition method


The competition is arranged in 3 units, and the points are used to arrange the competition. There are 6 rounds of competition, 12 decks of cards in each round, and the rankings are ranked according to the VP points.


2. Arrangement


(1) The serial number of each team and the first-round matchup will be decided by the running officer by drawing lots.


(2) The home and away teams in the scoring competition are subject to the referee's announcement.


(3) Neither side has the right to choose a seat, and they will be seated directly at the same time 5 minutes before the start of the game.


3. Competition procedure


(1) Prefabricated game cards by computer.


(2) A pair of partners can only use mental bidding in one deck of cards at most in each round.


 


One pair one team competition regulations


1. Competition method


(1) The competition will be divided into 4 units, divided into preliminaries and finals. The preliminaries are organized by points. The final adopts the double Howell method. The method of the competition depends on the number of participating teams and will be announced before the competition.


(2) Calculation method of game points: The basic points obtained by each deck of cards of the opposing sides are compared respectively, and the higher player will be awarded 1 point, the lower player will be awarded 0 point, and if they are the same, each will be awarded 0.5 point.


2. Arrangement


(1) The serial number of each team and the first-round matchup will be decided by the running officer by drawing lots.


(2) List of appearances:


Teams can determine their own azimuth and seat directly.


3. Competition procedure


(1) Game cards: Prefabricated game cards by computer.


(2) Psychological bidding: The number of opposing decks is prohibited in games with 8 decks or less. In matches with 9 decks or more, a pair of partners can only be used in one deck at most in each round.


 


Swiss-style team competition


1. Competition method


  There will be no more preliminaries and finals, and a total of 3 units will be played.


 The competition is organized by points, with 8 rounds of 7 decks of cards in each round, and the rankings are ranked according to VP points.


2. Arrangement


(1) The number of each team and the first-round matchup will be determined by random draw by the operator, and the second round will be arranged according to the high-to-high and low-to-low VP points. If the number of participating teams is odd, the first-round bye team will be decided by the operation management by lottery, and the team with the least points in each subsequent round will have a bye, and the bye team will be scored as 12 VP.


(2) Appearance list: Direct entry is adopted, and neither party has the right to choose a seat.


3. Competition procedure


(1) Prefabricated game cards by computer.


(2) The use of psychological bidding is prohibited.


 


  IMP Doubles Rules


1. Competition method


(1) There are 2 stages of preliminaries and finals, with a total of 2 days of competition.


(2) The preliminaries and the finals will be divided into 2 quarters. The preliminaries will be arranged by points. The finals will be based on Mitchell's rotation method. The points will be calculated uniformly. Ranked according to the IMP points of each pair. The finalists will be determined according to the registration situation and announced before the competition. There are no points in the final.


(3) The number of rounds and the number of decks of cards in each game will be determined by the number of pairs of participants in the preliminaries.


2. Arrangement


The running officer presides over the draw to determine the serial number of the participating athletes.
