Notice of the China Bridge Association on Organizing the National Women's Bridge Team Selection Competition for the 19th Asian Games

The establishment methods and relevant requirements for the national women's bridge team of the 19th Asian Games are hereby notified as follows:

1、 The national women's bridge training team for the 19th Asian Games will be selected through a selection competition. Based on the comprehensive training situation, the participating representative team will be selected and qualified until the end of the current Asian Games.

2、 Selection time and location

（1） Time: It is planned to be held in April 2022, and the specific time will be subject to the supplementary notice.

（2） Location: Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.

3、 Registration

（1） Deadline: Before 17:00 on March 25, 2022, adjustments to the registration status are allowed within 3 days after the end of the mixed national team selection competition.

（2） Registration method: Send the electronic version of the registration form to the China Bridge Association email: ccba@sport.gov.cn

4、 Selection method

Selection will be conducted through a pair competition.

5、 Qualification

（1） All bridge enthusiasts who meet the conditions can participate in individual name pairing. The unit member group has no limit on the number of applicants for the competition.

（2） Athletes must meet the following conditions:

1. Citizens of the People's Republic of China, in good physical health;

2. I have not represented any other country or region in the World Championships or Intercontinental Championships in the past three years.

（3） Athletes meet one of the following conditions:

1. Top three female athletes in various bridge competitions of the Fourth National Intellectual Games;

2. Top three female athletes in various bridge competitions of the 14th National Games;

3. Female athletes who achieved the top three spots in the national bridge competition team competition (including open team, mixed team, and women's team) from 2018 to 2021;

4. Top three women's doubles at the 2018-2021 National Bridge Championships;

5. Female athletes who have won world championships;

For the above events, the athlete's appearance rate must reach 30%

6. Female athletes of the National Bridge Team from 2018 to 2021;

7. Female athletes who have obtained a Master's score of 1000 gold points or more from the China Bridge Association between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2021;

8. World Grand Master and World Lifetime Master.

（4） Athletes who have won world championships are not subject to the above conditions when registering as partners.

（5） Female athletes who have already been selected for the Asian Games Chinese mixed team lineup are not allowed to participate in the Asian Games Chinese women's team selection competition.

（6） When the number of registrations exceeds 12, the top 12 pairs will be selected based on the total number of master points obtained by the Chinese Bridge Association during the registration period from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021.

6、 Selection Competition Method

（1） The competition adopts an IMP duo system, and the competition method is determined based on the number of participants.

（2） The number of sets of cards in each round of competition is determined based on the situation.

7、 Determination of team

（1） Four pairs of athletes were selected to form the National Women's Bridge Training Team for the 19th Asian Games.

（2） Directly selected from the top three in the competition; The other pair of athletes, ranked 4-6 in the competition, will be evaluated based on their previous performance in world, intercontinental, and national competitions, as well as the stability between their partners.

（3） Based on the comprehensive effect of the training team, three pairs of athletes are selected to form the national women's bridge team to represent China in the Asian Games.

8、 Waiver and Adjustment

（1） After being selected for the national women's team, athletes abstain without reason:

1. The athlete will be disqualified from participating in the 2022 National Bridge Competition and will be disqualified from participating in any of the next national team trials.

2. The partner of the abstaining athlete shall be determined by the China Bridge Association based on the number of additional candidates to retain their team qualification.

（2） Selected athletes are not allowed to adjust their partners on their own.

（3） If any athlete abstains, the Chinese Bridge Association shall determine the additional athletes.

9、 National team management

（1） The national team is managed by the China Bridge Association and must comply with the relevant systems and regulations of the General Administration of Sport and the China Bridge Association regarding the management of the national team.

（2） Selected athletes should have a strong sense of patriotism and a desire to win glory for their country. Having a good sportsmanship and professional ethics, strictly adhering to the requirements and regulations of national and international organizations regarding race discipline and anti doping work, and being honest and trustworthy. When participating in the Asian Games, maintain the national image, comply with the relevant regulations of the Chinese sports delegation, and unconditionally represent the country in the Asian Games and related activities.

（3） The national team's training and competition will be arranged by the China Bridge Association.

（4） Selected athletes must participate in all training sessions and comply with the National Bridge Team Management Regulations during the training sessions.

（5） If any athlete violates the above requirements, they will be dealt with seriously in accordance with relevant regulations, until their national team qualification is cancelled.

10、 Matters not covered will be notified separately.
