Competition Regulations for the 2022 National Bridge Team Tournament


1、 Competitive events


Men's and women's groups are promoted or downgraded to team events.


2、 Participating units


(1) Men's group: Association members of the China Bridge Association


1. Class A team


Shanghai, Locomotive Sports Association, Zhejiang, Chengdu, Sichuan, Beijing, Hebei, China Construction Sports Association, Jiangsu, Hunan, Fujian, Ordnance Sports Association, Shenzhen.


2. Second level team


Hubei, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Putuo District of Shanghai, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Guangzhou, Yunnan, Huairou District of Beijing, Dalian, Guangdong, Jilin.


3. Level C team: meets one of the following conditions


(1) Provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, cities specifically designated in the state plan, and industry sports associations and bridge associations except for Class A and Class B;


(2) A grassroots bridge association with more than 10 registered bridge clubs (Class A and Class B) in the China Bridge Association;


(3) The top 4 teams in the grassroots association team competition of the 2019 and 2021 National Bridge Championships (each unit can only have 1 qualification);


(4) The grassroots bridge association that will host the 2022 National Bridge Competition (a national level event).


(2) Women's group: Association member of the China Bridge Association


1. Class A team


Beijing, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Coal Mining Sports Association, Communication Sports Association, Hebei, Shaanxi, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shanghai Hongkou, Hong Kong, Guangdong.




2. Second tier team: A bridge association other than the first tier team.




3、 Athlete qualifications




(1) All participating athletes should be citizens of the People's Republic of China.




(2) The participating athletes must be non outstanding individual members of the China Bridge Association.




(3) The representative qualifications of athletes from various provinces, districts, and cities shall be based on the annual registered representative units. Athletes without annual registration are only allowed to participate on behalf of their registered residence registration/school registration/social security location. Athletes representing provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, cities specifically designated in the national plan, and industry sports associations are not allowed to participate in the grassroots team competition of the 2022 National Bridge Comprehensive Championships.




(4) The athletes of the men's group competition are mainly the athletes from the region (registered residence/school/social security relationship location, and the social security relationship certification requires the social security records of the most recent consecutive payment of more than 12 months). Each team allows two athletes from other regions to participate. The women's group competition is not limited by this clause.




(5) All participating athletes in the industry sports association must be registered athletes of the China Bridge Association in 2022, and the representative qualification shall be based on the representative unit registered in 2022.




(6) Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan athletes who register as annual athletes with the China Bridge Association and have continuously paid social security for more than 24 months in various provinces, regions, and cities are allowed to participate on behalf of the registered unit, while other Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan athletes can only participate on behalf of the local association.




(7) Athletes who exercise the registration priority during the registration period of the association's sequence registration unit shall not participate on behalf of other associations.




4、 Participation method




(1) Each team can have one leader, one coach, and 4-6 athletes.




(2) Each participating team shall bear their own participation fees.




5、 Competition methods




(1) Competition method




1. Men's Grade A and Women's Grade A: There are two stages.




Stage 1: Round robin, with 16 cards per game, ranked based on VP points. 1-4 places advanced to the semi-finals, while 5th and 6th places were ranked 5th and 6th respectively. 7th place was relegated, while 8th and 11th places advanced to the knockout stages 1-1 and 1-2 respectively. 12th place was relegated.




Phase 2: Division knockout rounds.




(1) 1st round knockout round




Semifinals: In the first stage, 1-4 players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards per section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The first ranked team has the right to choose opponents from the third and fourth ranked teams. The winning team enters the final, while the losing team enters the third or fourth place competition.




Knockout stage 1-1: In the first stage, the 8th and 9th place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team enters knockout stage 2.




Knockout round 1-2: In the first stage, the 10th and 11th place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team enters knockout stage 2, while the losing team is relegated.




(2) 2nd round knockout round




Knockout stage 2: The losing team in knockout stage 1-1 will compete with the winning team in knockout stage 1-2 in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team is relegated.




(3) Finals and 3-4 place competitions




Final: Conduct an 80 pack card competition in 5 sections, with 16 packs per section, and the winner will be determined by IMP.




3. 4 player competition: A 32 pack card competition will be held in 2 sections, with 16 packs per section. The winner will be determined by IMP.




2. Male Grade B: divided into two stages.




Stage 1: Round robin, with 16 cards per game, ranked based on VP points. The first place will be promoted, the second to fifth places will enter the knockout stages 1-1 and 1-2 respectively, the sixth and seventh places will be relegated, the eighth to eleventh places will enter the knockout stages 1-3 and 1-4 respectively, and the twelfth place will be relegated.




Phase 2: Division knockout rounds.




(1) 1st round knockout round




Knockout stage 1-1: In the first stage, the second and third place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team is promoted, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-1.




Knockout round 1-2: In the first stage, the 4th and 5th place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team enters the knockout stage 2-1, while the losing team is relegated.




Knockout stage 1-3: In the first stage, the 8th and 9th place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team enters the knockout stage 2-2.




Knockout stage 1-4: In the first stage, the 10th and 11th place players will compete in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by the IMP. The winning team enters the knockout stage 2-2, while the losing team is relegated.




(2) 2nd round knockout round




Knockout stage 2-1: The losing team in knockout stage 1-1 will compete with the winning team in knockout stage 1-2 in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is promoted, while the losing team is relegated.




Knockout stage 2-2: The losing team in knockout stage 1-3 will compete with the winning team in knockout stage 1-4 in a 48 deck game, divided into 3 sections, with 16 deck cards in each section. The winner will be determined by IMP. The winning team is relegated, while the losing team is relegated.




3. Male Grade C and Female Grade B: divided into two stages.




Stage 1: Preliminaries, with 16 deck cards per game, ranked based on VP points.




Phase 2: Division knockout rounds.




The specific competition method will be determined based on the registration situation and announced before the competition.




(2) Promotion and demotion quota




1. Class A team




Both the men's and women's groups were demoted to the second division by three teams.




2. Second level team




Both the men's and women's teams were promoted to the first division by three teams; The men's team was demoted to the third tier team.




3. Class C team




Upgrade to team 3 to team 2.




(3) The competition adopts the "China Bridge Competition Rules" approved by the China Bridge Association in 2018 and the "Supplementary Provisions to the China Bridge Competition Rules" (2020).




(4) Each pair of players should carry three copies of the Chinese system card and its accompanying pages, one of which should be submitted to the referee team for record at the time of registration, and two of which should be brought to the table during the competition.




6、 Admission Ranking and Rewards




(1) The top 6 men's and women's A-level teams will be awarded certificates, with the top 3 being awarded medals.




(2) All competitions in each group are awarded Master Points by the China Bridge Association in accordance with the "Technical Grade Standards for Members of the China Bridge Association".




7、 Registration and check-in




(1) Registration




1. Each unit must submit one registration form to the China Bridge Association and one competition area before the deadline specified in the supplementary notice, and also register in the special event of China Bridge Network. Failure to do so will result in waiver.




2. Registration fee: 1500 yuan/team for men's group and 1000 yuan/team for women's group. The registration fee will be collected by the organizer.




3. Change the list




(1) Within the specified time after the registration deadline, each participating team may submit a written request to the China Bridge Association to change the list (including adding, reducing, changing athletes, correcting registration errors, etc.).




(2) If the list is changed after the specified time, an application form for changing the list must be filled out and submitted to the competition team of the university before the start of the first competition. A handling fee of 100 yuan must be paid for each change.




(2) Reporting




The referee will report to the competition area 3 days before the competition, and each participating team will report to the competition area 1 day before the competition.




8、 The selection method for judges and arbitration committees shall be separately formulated.




9、 Other




(1) Participating teams must purchase personal accident insurance (including during the competition and during the round-trip journey).




(2) The team leader meeting is scheduled to be held at 20:30 one day before the competition, and each participating team must be attended by the team leader or coach.




(3) Matters not covered will be notified separately.
